Transitioning to Post-16 and Beyond
Considering your child's next steps following their time at Bents Green School is an important part of their preparation for adulthood.
At Bents Green School we offer a Post-16 provision at our Enterprise Works site, with an additional Post-16 provision coming to our Ringinglow site in September 2025. There are also many other opportunities available for our students in the wider community. You can discover all Post-16 options on the Sheffield Council website by clicking here.
Exploring Future Options
At Bents Green School we promote lifelong learning to ensure students are prepared for Post-16 pathways and the world of work.
Our students will have the opportunity to visit a wide range of colleges and training providers during their time at Bents Green School. These visits are in place to allow students to consider life after Bents Green while also exploring possible future career choices or to find out more about any courses of interest. We encourage parents to follow up with further visits.
Provider Access
Provider Access Legislation requires all schools and academies to provide opportunities for a range of education and training providers to engage with all year 8 to 13 students to inform them about approved technical education qualifications and apprenticeships on offer to them. These encounters are woven through our career curriculum and take place during their time at Bents Green School to allow our students to make informed decisions on their next steps.
Our safeguarding policy outlines our procedures for checking the identity and suitability of visitors. All education and training providers will be expected to adhere to this policy.
