Vision & Values

Our vision:

To be a great school community for all students, families and staff.

Our values, which will help to deliver our vision:

  • We NURTURE relationships: We care about everyone in our school community.  Unconditional positive regard is central to our approach to students, staff and the whole school community.
  • We are KIND and respectful: We will treat each other with respect and kindness, and we are considerate of each other’s feelings.
  • We celebrate INDIVIDUALISM: Every individual is valued for who they are and what they contribute to the school.  We are a school that encourages people to embrace their true selves and share their uniqueness with the world.
  • We COMMUNICATE positively: We ensure that we focus on developing positive communication with students, staff and the whole school community.
  • We are lifelong LEARNERS: We believe that everyone can achieve and learn in the right environment and with the right support.

Bents Green aims to:

  • Develop the knowledge, skills and cultural capital learners require to enable them to be educated citizens and contribute meaningfully to society.
  • Create a sense of belonging and develop resilience providing the foundation for our learners to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
  • Celebrate the individuality and uniqueness of our learners and instil acceptance and understanding.
  • Provide high quality, creative teaching and lifelong learning experiences that are personalised and promote curiosity and wonder.

Equality objectives:

  • To promote cultural understanding and awareness of different religious beliefs between different ethnic groups within our school community through the curriculum offer.
  • To further improve accessibility to the curriculum across the school for students with communication disabilities through the use of Makaton and signing.
  • To reduce the incidence of the use of discriminatory language by students in the school through education.
  • To reduce exclusion rates through the use of internal reflection and the zone of consequences.
